Nobel Laureate Sir Angus Deaton will explore how flaws in modern capitalism are impacting society, including rising rates of mortality, despair and economic inequality. Professor Deaton is a leading voice in economics whose research has helped shape our understanding of social determinants of health, poverty and inequality in the U.S. and around the world.
Join us for an insightful discussion, hosted by the USC Schaeffer Center for Health Policy & Economics in partnership with the USC Dornsife Department of Economics.

Sir Angus Deaton is a USC Presidential Scholar-in-Residence, a Distinguished Scholar at the USC Schaeffer Institute for Public Policy & Government Service, and a Presidential Professor of Economics at USC Dornsife.
Copies of "Deaths of Despair and the Future of Capitalism" will be gifted to the first 80 event attendees.
