About this Event
"From Insight to Impact: Elevating Mental Health Care in Community Pharmacy" is a 5.5-hour live virtual continuing pharmacy education (CPE) activity designed to equip community pharmacists with the knowledge and practical skills needed to expand access to evidence-based mental health and substance use disorder (SUD) care. Hosted by the California Right Meds Collaborative (CRMC) in partnership with the USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, the program will bring together nationally recognized experts in psychiatry, community pharmacy, public health, health plans, and behavioral health to address current challenges and emerging best practices in behavioral healthcare.
The educational program will focus on practical psychotropic medication management, including off-label use, dosing optimization, long-acting injectable (LAI) antipsychotics, and regulatory considerations. Additional sessions will explore evidence-based approaches to opioid and stimulant use disorders, emerging therapies, collaborative care models, quality improvement initiatives, and innovative community pharmacy practices that improve patient access to behavioral healthcare.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
