Partnership for an Equitable Los Angeles (PELA) is hosting "Build Your Power: A Workshop on Community Organizing" on Thursday, January 18th from 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM at the United University Church at USC.

Trainers from Strategic Actions for a Just Economy (SAJE) and Alliance of Californians for Community Empowerment (ACCE) will be co-facilitating a workshop to provide students with applicable tools and a working definition of community organizing as a method for social and political change. Some tactics and strategies that will be covered include base-building, power analysis, campaign planning, storytelling, public action, and legislative campaigns. Part of the training will focus on current affordable housing and tenant protection issues that impact Los Angeles.
