CPF Directors Bob Shrum and Mike Murphy welcomed two of our five Fall 2022 CPF Fellows, Jessica Lall and Elan Carr, for a lively discussion about current events.

Jessica Lall serves as the President and CEO of the Central City Association (CCA), an advocacy organization focused on increasing opportunity in downtown Los Angeles. Lall will be leading a study group called "Local Leadership and Community Systems Change," which will explore what it means to create tangible, lasting progress as a leader in Los Angeles' dynamic context.

Elan Carr served as the United States Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism from 2019 to 2021. He will lead a study group called "America and Antisemitism: How the United States Wrestles with the World's Oldest Hatred," which will discuss policy solutions and international cooperation to address antisemitism at home and abroad.

Each semester, CPF hosts ideologically diverse Fellows like Lall and Carr who broaden students’ understanding of government while strengthening civil dialogue on campus. They engage the USC community through office hours, casual lunchtime forums, formal panel discussions, and prestigious conferences. We encourage USC students to apply for CPF Fellows Study Groups to develop friendships and mentorships with some of America’s leading political voices.
