The USC Volunteer Center's virtual series will highlight social justice issues in the areas of education, immigration, public health, and environmental justice. Students, Alumni, and Staff are welcome to register for any workshops they would like to attend:
Feb 6 (9am PST)- Welcome to Beyond 2020: Wellbeing as a Social Justice Issue. Join our kick-off session with Dean Varun Soni as we talk about how dismaintling social justice starts with solving the personal social justice issue of well-being.
Feb 6 (10:30am PST) - Fighting Fire with Fire: Indigenous Approaches to Environmental Conservation. Environmental historian Jared Aldern will lead a panel discussion the long-standing indigenous traditions that have helped communities fend off fire hazards and live in harmony with the environment.
Feb 20 (12pm PST) - Charity vs. Solidarity in Educational Activism
Feb 20 (1:15pm PST) - COVID-19 and Disproportionate Health Outcomes
Mar 6 (12pm PST) - The Nature of Public Education. Learn more about our system of public educational, charter school inequalities, and how those topics are intertwined with class, race, and gender.
Mar 20 (12pm PST) - Women of Color in Predominantly White Institutions Panel.
