Dr. Sana Tayyen and her son, Ahmed, will share their experiences of working, studying and living as American Muslims in Los Angeles. Representation, politics and the culture of faith will be among the many topics. Father James L. Heft, S.M., from USC’s Institute for Advanced Catholic Studies will moderate, with audience questions to follow. Dr. Tayyen is currently a Lecturer of Religion at USC. She holds a PhD in Religion and an MA in Philosophy from Claremont Graduate University. Her work focuses on interreligious dynamics, Islam, Muslims, comparative theology and truth. Her son is a high school senior.
