As you advance in your PhD, opportunities to serve on committees, in student organizations, and at conferences can enrich your experience and expand your network. But overcommitment can drain time and energy from your research and writing. This session will help you evaluate service requests, set professional boundaries, and make choices that align with your long-term academic and career goals. Learn how to say “yes” strategically and “no” confidently.

Bonus for Dornsife Ph.D. students only: Attending this event counts toward the 4-event minimum to apply for the PhD Academy Scholarship and Research Fund (up to $500).
