 tory\, and fate of nations? Working with Albanian\, Aramaic\, Chinese\, He
 brew\, Greek\, Korean\, Latin\, French\, Spanish\, Turkish and Vietnamese\
 , this panel’s poets\, translators and scholars discuss their roles as i
 ntermediaries\, technicians\, magicians and alchemists working between lan
 guages to create inspired texts spanning cultural differences\, geographic
  distances\, and time.\n\nWith Jennifer Kwon Dobbs\, Hélène Cardona\, An
 i Gjika\, Dennis Maloney\, Willis Barnstone\n\nRoom 515 B\, Meeting Room L
 evel\n\nJennifer Kwon Dobbs is associate professor of creative writing and
  program director of race and ethnic studies at St. Olaf College. Recipien
 t of a White Pine Press Poetry Prize and a Minnesota State Arts Board gran
 t\, she is the author of Paper Pavilion and Notes from a Missing Person.\n
 \nHélène Cardona's most recent books are Life in Suspension and the tran
 slation Beyond Elsewhere\, winner of a Hemingway Grant. She is Co-Internat
 ional editor of Plume and Fulcrum\, contributor to The London Magazine\, a
 nd taught at Hamilton College & LMU. Goethe-Institut & Andalucía Universi
 ty fellowships.\n\nAni Gjika is the author of Bread on Running Waters and 
 a 2016 NEA fellow for her translation of Luljeta Lleshanaku's work from th
 e Albanian language. Gjika's poems and translations appear at AGNI Online\
 , Salamander\, Seneca Review\, World Literature Today\, Ploughshares\, and
  others.\n\nWillis Barnstone\, professor of comparative literature\, India
 na University\, is a Guggenheim Fellow\, and has four Book-of-the-Month se
 lections. Recent books are Poetics of Translation\, Gnostic Bible\, Select
 ed Poems of Antonio Machado\, Restored New Testament\, Café de l’Aube a
  Paris\, and The Poems of Jesus Christ.\n\nDennis Maloney is the founding 
 editor/publisher of White Pine Press\, a nonprofit literary publisher foun
 ded in 1973. White Pine Press publishes poetry\, fiction\, and literature 
 in translation from around the world. He is also a poet and translator. Hi
 s most recent book is Listening to Tao Yuan Ming.\n\nAWP's 2016 Conference
