An introspective, empathic, and thought-provoking lyricist with an emotive voice and flair for roots music traditions, Aspen Jacobsen’s modern twist on folk music bridges gaps between generations. Her song "Tale of a Chameleon" won an International Acoustic Music Award for Country/Bluegrass in 2022. The album it came from, Arsonist Daughter, won Album of the Year on Blues and Roots Radio and was the fourth- and fifth-most played release on the Folk Alliance International’s Folk Radio Charts in November and December 2022. Also that year, Aspen graduated from Interlochen Arts Academy High School and enrolled in USC’s Popular Music Program as a singer-songwriter.

This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
