About this Event
Michael Abramowitz has served as the director of Voice of America since June 2024. During the past few weeks, the Trump administration has attempted to fire him as well as to dismiss most of the VOA staff, but the federal courts have ruled that those actions violate federal law. As those cases are pending, Director Abramowitz will join University Professor Geoffrey Cowan (who ran VOA from 1994 to 1996) and Professor Nick Cull in discussing the political and legal challenges to VOA and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
This program is open to all eligible individuals. USC operates all of its programs and activities consistent with the university’s Notice of Non-Discrimination. Eligibility is not determined based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation or any other prohibited factor.
