Title: The a-contraction method applied to the stability of shock wave
Abstract: We will briefly discuss the method of a-contraction with shifts. This method has been used to study the stability of Riemann shock for the compressible Euler system. Also, this method is also used to show the stability of viscous shock for Navier-Stokes system, especially, to study two stability concepts:
(i) Contraction of large perturbations of viscous shock;
(ii) Long time behavior of small perturbation of viscous shock.
In this lecture, we will focus on the viscous version for the above two studies.
