https://sites.usc.edu/festivalofbooks/ #bookfest21-year-old pop rock sensation Aminta Skye draws inspiration from her intersecting identities as a queer Senegalese-American raised in Oregon. Her music fuses rock, post punk, and indie pop, echoing the nostalgic tones of Jeff Buckley, the fearless energy of Paramore, and the inexplicably catchy force of The 1975. With thoughtful lyricism and intricate instrumental arrangements, Skye’s songs delve into themes of self-inquiry and confession. While finishing a Pop Songwriting degree at USC, Skye has captivated L.A. audiences with shows ranging from Sofar Sounds and Breaking Sound to the Hotel Cafe.
