The ALI Book Club is a free program that aims to help international students practice their English reading and conversation skills. These informal 60-80 minute groups are led by native English-speaking USC students, are first come first served, and capped at 5 students per session. 

This spring, we will read 6 different short stories, one per every two weeks of the program. For the best experience, please read the short story of the week BEFORE attending a book club session so that you may be able to contribute to the conversation. There will also be time at the beginning of each session for participants to read the text together.

Texts this semester include short stories from authors such as Cormac McCarthy, Ken Liu, Anton Chekhov, and Isaac Asimov.

Registration does not guarantee a spot in the session. In an effort to keep group sizes small, the leader will only take the first 5 students who registered and arrived at the meeting location.
