The more than one hundred thirty late Ming- and early Qing-dynasty paintings acquired by the Bay Area collector and dealer Jung Ying Tsao (1923–2011) constitute a collection representing nearly every major school of seventeenth- century Chinese painting. This exhibition at LACMA presents the Tsao Family Collection to the American public for the first time. The speaker will discuss the project and its significance in the study of Chinese art history.
This event is sponsored by the Departments of Art History and East Asian Languages and Cultures, and East Asian Studies Center at the University of Southern California
