What does it take to regulate fear while hanging by your fingertips thousands of feet off the ground? Join the USC Performance Science Institute in welcoming Alex Honnold, acclaimed free solo rock climber known for his ability to perform at the limits of human capability and imagination. Alex recently climbed the sheer face of Yosemite's El Capitan without the use of ropes or safety equipment. His ascent is the subject of an upcoming film by National Geographic.
The evening will feature presentations on the science of emotion regulation by Dr. Glenn R. Fox and Alex will be interviewed by renowned psychologist Dr. Michael Gervais as they dive into what it means to depend on one's own abilities when one's own life depends on the ability to perform.
Open to students and USC community. To register, go to usc.edu/esvp (code: alexhonnold)
