The USC Dornsife Center for the Political Future is hosting a PAID dialogue workshop in partnership with the USC Open Dialogue Project and BridgeUSA. This advanced workshop equips participants with critical skills for de-escalating contentious dialogues, asserting moderation authority, and guiding discussions toward innovative solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for student RSO leaders, Resident Assistants, school Ambassadors, Teaching Assistants, athletic team captains, and student leaders of all kinds.

This event will take place on Saturday, February 7 from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm on campus at the Vineyard Room in the Davidson Conference Center (3409 S. Figueroa Street Los Angeles, CA 90089). Signing up means you are 100% committing to attending.

Sixty attendees will receive high-quality training from dialogue professionals at BridgeUSA, free lunch, and a $50 gift card

Participants will learn traits of an effective dialogue facilitator, participate in storyteller and listener activities, understanding facilitator roles, navigating heated conversations, and then do rapid-fire intervention practice and advanced instigator/moderator activities. There will be time for reflection, questions, and planning next steps.

All attendees will then be required to host a minimum 5-person open dialogue on a topic and place of their choice by the end of March. At the completion of that hosted dialogue, the dialogue trainee will receive: an additional $25 gift card and a formal digital certificate in dialogue skills from Team Democracy (post-able on LinkedIn).

Additional partners on this dialogue project include USC Athletics, USC Student Life, and USC Political Union.
