This event will take place on Saturday, February 7 from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm on campus at the Vineyard Room in the Davidson Conference Center (3409 S. Figueroa Street Los Angeles, CA 90089). Signing up means you are 100% committing to attending.
Sixty attendees will receive high-quality training from dialogue professionals at BridgeUSA, free lunch, and a $50 gift card.
Participants will learn traits of an effective dialogue facilitator, participate in storyteller and listener activities, understanding facilitator roles, navigating heated conversations, and then do rapid-fire intervention practice and advanced instigator/moderator activities. There will be time for reflection, questions, and planning next steps.
All attendees will then be required to host a minimum 5-person open dialogue on a topic and place of their choice by the end of March. At the completion of that hosted dialogue, the dialogue trainee will receive: an additional $25 gift card and a formal digital certificate in dialogue skills from Team Democracy (post-able on LinkedIn).
Additional partners on this dialogue project include USC Athletics, USC Student Life, and USC Political Union.
