About this Event
The Student Conservation Association’s (SCA) Western Corps Teams bring together passionate young conservationists dedicated to protecting and preserving the diverse ecosystems of the Western United States. As part of the SCA, these teams engage in hands-on conservation projects, working alongside land management agencies to address urgent environmental challenges. Their efforts include trail building and maintenance, habitat restoration, invasive species control, and natural resource conservation.
The Western Corps Teams provide college students and adults with an opportunity to gain real-world experience in the environmental field, while making a direct impact on the protection of national parks, forests, wildlife habitats, and public lands across the region. By collaborating with experienced professionals, participants gain valuable skills in conservation, leadership, and teamwork—preparing them for future careers in environmental science, sustainability, and resource management.
Each year, the Western Corps Teams embody the SCA's mission of connecting applicants with nature and empowering the next generation of conservation leaders. Participants not only contribute to the preservation of vital landscapes but also forge lifelong connections to the natural world and the communities they serve. Through these efforts, the Western Corps Teams are helping to ensure that future generations can enjoy and benefit from America’s rich natural heritage.
