Our 2020 Summit program is promising to deliver another exciting day:
An opening keynote by Dr. Dawn Wright, Esri’s Chief Scientist, on “GIS for Science”.
A panel discussing “Striving for a Sustainable World with GIS and More” featuring Dr. Wright with Dr. Sarah Battersby, Research Scientist with Tableau, Dr. Travis Longcore with the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, and Dr. Robert Vos of the USC Spatial Sciences Institute (SSI).
A roundtable on “Emerging Trends in Remote Sensing with Smallsats and UAVs” by Michael Ann Lane of Hexagon Geospatial, Jim Stokes of Maxar Technologies, and Dr. Steven Ward of The Climate Corporation, moderated by SSI’s Dr. Andrew Marx.
A closing plenary on “Opportunities With Geospatial Start-Ups” featuring Andre Doumitt of The Aerospace Corporation, Todd Simon of Geospatial Alpha, and Melanie Stricklan of Slingshot Aerospace, moderated by Dr. Jason Knowles of GeoAcuity, the USC Institute for Creative Technologies, and SSI.
Lightning talks and poster presentations by GIS students from Cal State Long Beach, Cal Poly Pomona, Soka University of America, UCLA, University of Redlands, and USC.

~ Dr. Thomas Horan of the University of Redlands on its “Spatial Business Initiative” with Esri to maximize the effectiveness of GIS in business.
