The 2nd Women in Engineering event will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2017 10:00am to 2:00pm at TOOLOTS in Cerritos, CA.

This SELACO event is designed to bring together employers and high-school students from the Career Technical Education track.  These are young women interested in the trades, logistics, manufacturing and engineering.  Five different high school districts in the Southeast Los Angeles County area currently participate in the California Career Pathways project that creates exposure to these industries by way of company tours, presentations and events such as this.

The purpose of this event is for the students to meet with industry professionals in a conversational setting to ask questions and gather information about the career opportunities in these technical industries of interest.

Planned Agenda:

  • Panel discussion of women in the trades, logistics, manufacturing & engineering
  • Presentation by Sara Safari, Mountaineer and Engineering Professor
  • Breaking Down the Barriers Seminar
