“Changing the Climate: Campus Sexual Violence” asks hard questions about the effectiveness of current efforts to combat intimate violence. What kinds of concrete changes might universities adopt that would diminish the opportunities for rape and sexual assault? Has the broadening of Title IX brought greater gender fairness and social justice, and has it created sufficient safeguards for academic freedom? Does Title IX compliance do a better job of protecting colleges and universities than ensuring students’ safety? How fair are campus-centric judicial proceedings in cases of sexual harassment and sexual assault? What are the possibilities and limits of the campus rape reform movement? What impact has campus organizing around sexual assault had on the larger movement to end violence against women?
